We write a lot as a band. A crazy amount.

Our Album release was a month ago and we already have written 6 whole new song and pieces for two more. We are genuinely insane people.

As a band we are both prolific and harsh critics so no one but us will ever hear the majority of what we write. We complete and trash songs with a the steel grimace of a hangman.(not to sound poetic it’s just we love all our songs but somebody has got to put down Old Yeller and “No Pa, it’s our responsibility.”)

Where was I…

So here’s a taste of a song that we won’t ever finish.

Free parking-Practice by king’s horses

We called it “Free Parking” because we like board games and we’re dorks.

It just never clicked with us and we’ve tried rewriting parts and doing other things and it never seems to be as great as it sounds in our collective heads. It’s a great example of a completed song (that’s still needs a lot of work(tightening up(maybe an extra part))) that we just couldn’t get to sound like us. You can hear little hints of a song but it’s a pretty big mess.

I still think the bass line is killer so if anyone else can get it to work feel free to use it. Send me a message and I’ll give you the tabs. And you’ll have to give us(or me) a shout out every single time you play it(even in band practice).

So there’s some more insight into out crazy.

New epic idea by king’s horses

This is the first run through of the our new song.

Going back in time this is literally the first song Jack(Me) wrote on bass, which makes this a 12 year old idea.

The show went great.

There was rainbows and sparkles and at least one half naked man(me).

Some song from Polis

Text

March 25th is our CD release show with some phenomenal bands.

The Facebook Event

Eventually i’ll figure out how to set up links in Tumblr but for now

Here’s where you can buy it  «HERE»

Or we’re on itunes.

And here’s what we wrote about it.

Recorded in three days at historic Bobby Peru Studios, Polis is our freshmen album. But not like a hot freshman catholic school girl that you just want to show the world(read: your Penis).
More like our introduction….
And I don’t mean to be pretensions like “it’s our Meet the Beatles” but in a way it is. It’s our first full length and therefore kind of like the Beatles “Meet the Beatles” But we’re not like them as a band.
I suppose we could have compared ourselves to any band that’d put out a full length so why would I compare us to the Beatles.
I guess I’m trying to co-op some of their fame by tangentially drawing a correlation between us.

Lyrically our songs are about murders, whores, drunks, liars and ghosts. But the real fun is delving into the syntax. The lyrics are partially pieced together with reference to our lifetime of media consumption. While most are content with pop culture references we like to be real ass holes and quote obscure sub culture. How well versed are you with the works of Jean Luc Goddard and Harold Bloom?….Yeah we’re those guys.
Most of our practices fall into philosophical debate and many beers and that reflects in our song writing. The push pull loud quite loud dynamic stems from our need to keep the music interesting to US. We pull a lot from 90’s hardcore and post punk(though Me(Jack(The one writing this))) listened to mostly En Vogue in the 90’s.

AND IN CUNCLUSION (this is how they taught me to wrap up a paper in high school)

What we’re left with is a slab of feedback laden noise rock that is as forward thinking as it owes to the mountain of records that came before it.

(Listen, Matt wrote that last part and he was really proud of it so I’m just going to leave it…it’s nice, it’s accurate.)

(Hey, Matt here, and yeah, that kinda sounds like an asshole thing to say. But I was prodded by Jack to add something at the end that actually talked about the record… so that’s what you get. It was better than “sounds like your Les Savy Fav Pandora station”…)
